| Description: | Technical Vocational Teacher Education develops the knowledge and skills required for Vocational Teacher certification by Manitoba Education, Training and Youth. Students will study teaching methodology, the development of courses and computer applications, and the design of facilities for delivery of vocational education programs. They will spend 18 weeks of program time teaching practicums in a local high school setting. Upon acceptance into the program, students will receive credit for Vocational Training and Related Work Experience equivalent to 45 credit hours.
Upon successful completion of this program, graduates will receive a diploma from Red River College and be eligible for a Special Vocational Teaching certificate issued by Manitoba Education and Training. This program makes up the first three years of the five-year Joint RRC/University of Winnipeg Bachelor of Education Degree with a major in vocational education. |
